Black History Month

February is the month to celebrate and honor African Americans that have made great contributions  throughout history.

This February I would like to focus on the entertainers. 
29 days of movies that featured African American actors and actresses. 
The dolls/figures come from various movie characters.   I have put two or more dolls/figures  together to test your knowledge on the movie that they have appeared together.

The President and First Lady



The height difference is due to the President's doll stand

The President is from Danbury Mint and the First Lady is from Franklin Mint.  She is about 15" and he is about 16".  The First Lady wore a beautiful blue dress last night.  I am still waiting for a 12" First Lady doll.


Construction boots

I recently purchased the doll, Zayn Malik from the group One Direction.  He wears jeans with construction boots.  I know I had other dolls/figures with construction boots so  I decided to go looking for the dolls/figures with the same type of boots.  This is what I found in my collection.

Neighborhood 13 and Iwao have the same boots.  Graffiti's boots have real shoe laces that can be tied.

Darren

 Here is the new Rocawear Darren (right side).  He is standing side by side with the first Rocawear Darren. 

   The new Darren  has no bendable legs and arms which is different from the first one.  I like the poseability of the first one .

All of them are wearing jeans.   I am hoping that the next Darren will come in something other than jeans.  The other series that was produced in 2011 was Grace's Sweet Sixteen.  However, Darren was not created for this series. It was my chance to get an evening outfit for Darren.

It is Cold Outside

The temperature in New York City dropped to the twenties this week for two days.  What figures/dolls would be able to survive the weather with their clothes.
The figures below came with coats.  

Merra, Gang 2, Mary, Darius, Romantic Lover

The guys all wear faux fur or felted coats. Mary is wearing a down type coat with scarf and hat.

Merra is from Tokyo Tribe 2 created by Medicom; Gang 2 is a model created by Enterbay, Mary is a discount doll, Darius is from Fashion Royalty, Romantic Lover is from Defa Lucy.

The New Monster High Dolls Sweet 1600

I went to Toys R Us in  New York City yesterday. I saw the new series for the MonsterHigh dolls including  Clawd Wolf and Clawdeen.  It was the first time that Clawd Wolf was solo.  I went to the register to pay for them and left the store without them.  They were $38.95 each.  The Toys R Us website lists the dolls for $32.95.  I will wait for a sale.
