Ebony is looking an " All American". This is the name of the members of the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division. They are soldiers that have fought all over the world and their mission is get in first and win. Ebony is honored to have this woman on her team.
"She is a member of the G.I. Joe Classic Collection. She is a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. They are a divisional strength organization with airborne forced entry capabilities. Their mission: go anywhere-get in first- and win! In 1989, women actively served in combat roles for the first time. The 82nd Airborne Division, by nature is completely self-sufficient- the only one of its kind in the U.S. armed forces. It is equipped with its own armor, artillery and air-defense elements, all of which can be delivered by parachute alongside its troopers Prepared to deploy anywhere on earth at minimal notice, the 82nd's reach is global and immediate."*
The figures do not have individual names. She represents all the women in the 82nd Division.

ReplyDeleteWow, I did not realize that Hasbro still sold the black G.I. Janes. She's an interesting contrast to the usually glamorous fashion dolls. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery nice doll! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteThe doll was created in 1998. I think she is still available on ebay. Hasbro created two african american females.
